Today I woke up in an OK mood i guess. I9 was the first one up and its difficult to move around a hostel quietly (for those of you who don't know that lol) But when i was getting my bag I noticed that On my wall was a sticky note. It was from Vivian and Caroline. They were just saying that they left early and that it was nice to meet me. Who said hostel were the best place to meet people?! I left the room much as I did yesterday but with more of an idea of what to expect from breakfast. Toast! (with jam of course! I also left with the knowledge that tonight was the sat night i had in the Barnicals... stupid me for putting my ETD on a Saturday... than again no one told me that even if there is ABSOLUTELY nothing going on in Dublin this weekend...there is always SOMETHING happening going on. So it is completely impossible to get accommodation's for the Saturday on the day before you need them.This put me in a mood.
My orientation went alright. just a bunch of Americans and one Canadian guy who was nice enough but kind of obnoxious. The orientation didn't tell me anything that I didn't know already except... that theres a hella lot more paper work standing in lines, registering, and paying insane amounts of money than I was aware of. NOT IMPRESSED! So after that I went right in to finding a place to stay tomorrow night.There was nothing! Well for less than 120$ and closer than 5 miles away.I had this mixed " everything will work out alright" slash "O-M-G! I'm an idiot! Thats it I'm going home!" attitude. The lady at my hostel suggested that I go to a lovley little town called Kilkenny and stay at the hostel there for the night. So I booked it. And that was that.. I also had the viewing of that house today. So I headed out to that. I think its worth noting that on my way there I ran across a hostel thats free tomorrow night here in town. it was a walk in only hostel. needless to say I booked it and canceled the one in Kilkenny. Yay me.
The house I looked at was in a rough looking area. It was small but well kept. I was pleased to find out that the other three people living there where Canadian although I would have liked the cultural diversity it was nice to have a conversation where some one knew what you meant when you said "back home". Its two girls and and a boy. They've been here for 6 months i think they said. and are in the same program that I am.Its great. However (and don't tell Toddar, lol) I'd be sharing a room with Trevor. I think I'm alright with that I mean right now I have 99.6 % naked men sleeping above and beside me.I spent over and hour talking and was informed that i was 99% sure to get it. (I won out over the obnoxious guy who was there for 1/2 and hour as well as the rest if the people he'd seen.) He'll e-mail me tomorrow and I'll know for sure. At this moment I think that is going to be the best for me. I want to travel , to see and do amazing things of a life time... BUT I crave the stability, messed up! Ill be a great mom some day....My kids will hate me! Mwa ha ha ha!!! I tried texting with my new phone today but they all failed!
On my way back to the hostel... I found a 24/7 call center. thats so exciting. 12 c/ minute to call home... not to bad.I knew at the time it was like 1:00 pm , but i had to try. I called and Justin answered. I started crying immediately gawd forbid it would have been mom or Toddar. Justing was good about it he. was such a sweetie. I made him late for work. But at least he had a valid excuses this time lol.
After that the guy at the counter made me cry for pointing out the fact that I was crying. I went back to the hostel and watch Myth Busters Ireland style.The people were the same but the narator had and accent and buster was not called buster he was called like Tim or something. Tee Hee :0 I talked to a guy and a girl from the UK about racism. It was nice. Inteligent conversation.... well converstation of any kind really.Then a long shower and off to bed. Im going to set the alarm on my new phone... hopefully it works better than texting! And mybe tomorrow or the next day I'll head out to vivsit Kilkenny just for the heck of it... I mean all the offices will be closed any way.
