OK so day 8 I hope you guys are in for a long read because today was intense.It was my first night in my new bed, and i guess I could say that enjoyed it, what little of it I had.At 6 am again today I got up and got ready to meet with Toddar (on the phone of course.) at 7 am. My room mate Trevor gave his bed up for the night to his guest/friend from BC So it was her that I had to be sure not to wake up. Then I had to leave early to compensate for the fact that I now live farther away. I cant seem to find a call shop over this side of town open earlier than 9am. Any way it was all going good until my new key wouldn't work in the door and I had to lock up before I left. So I had no choice but to wake Whitney up.
After that small fiasco was said and done I was on my way. I talked to Toddar and 7 euro later I was off to start my day. I headed back to the house just in time to say good bye to Trevor and his buddy, who were heading out on a trip of Ireland today...they wont be back until Monday so I have the room to myself pretty much.
Then I unpacked my bag. Put all my clothes in my new closet and my odds and ends I'm my drawer and then the rest on my shelf, my 2 bags of mac and cheese in my cubbord in the kitchen. I have my poor empty photo album out and one picture on the wall. If anyone want's to send me things besides Mac&Cheese and maybe a DQ ice cream cake... ... THEN SEND ME PICTURES! I have an address now so it will be easy!
(i was going to write it down but ill send it in an e-mail to every one...)
Speaking of my address it brings me to what I did next, I took that little bit of information to the USIT office to get my letter of residence. Waited around for a half and hour then i checked my face book. After that I had to make my way to the Apollo House to get my PPS # (thats a Irish social insurance #) Again more lines (i was # 43 this time) but i had a nice guy today help me who even tho I was directed to the wrong office to where my address district is filled out my application for me.
Then while I was heading home I stopped by Penny's its like Walmart but much better if you can believe that lol. I wasn't going to buy anything this trip but I saw these pair of slippers for 3 euro that I had to have. Let me explain... its not that I just wanted them, I have 3 pairs that I left at home, its that the house that Im living in just got am insane power bill of like 400 euro thats aprox. 675 Canadian per 2 months! Now Ive never payed a bill in my life but to be thats outrageous!! (needless to say ... i don't think i budgeted for that lol) So yes we turned EVERYTHING off. Its not to bad for the short while that the sun makes it in thro the window but for 99.97 % of the time its chilly, Ive had a chill since yesterday and it only got worse so the slippers here and must. Alright moving on.
So now I'm 'home' again, theres lotsa walking here i kinda like it. I updated my blog and reply d to shayna's e-mail. Then I got really motivated I showered in my new shower. It was the first time since i got here that I dint have to shower in flip flops. Altho their isn't much water pressure so it takes forever to get the shampoo out of all my hair lol oh well. at least its hot. I dressed did my hair and make up and then went job searching!
I was out for 2 hours and only handed out 3 CV's I' kinda torn between wanting to get out there... and not wanting to go back to work. (I'm on vacation lol) Plus I know when I do get one I'm just going to stick with it for the next 3 months so I want to like it. I guess what Im trying to say is that I'm being picky!
When I came back to the house I noticed that I had to go shopping if I wanted to eat more than just the hot cross bun that I had for breakfast. No toast... we don't have a toaster. lol So I went groceries shopping for the first time on my own. This kinda dropped me down a few notches in my good mood because the food here is so much more different that us. Plus I realize how much clod / frozen foood I eat. I cant here because the fridges over here are like a 1/4 the sizes of our fridges back home. SERIOUSLY! S i got lotsa soup, cereal and pasta... but no sauce cuz theirs no room. I improvised and it all fit in my cubourd. My mac&cheese isn't lonely any more. lol.
It finally sunk in that moment looking at my full coubour and then walking in to my room that I'm here for a long time. Damn! This is a whole new feeling.
Alright so after that I decided that had done enough and for one day I really had. I was tired already bu I went on the net. I found the webmessanger site and got to talk to my Auntie Kim (Nan) my mom and Toddar (for 10 mins b4 he had to go to Aarons) I made myself spaghetti noodles and when they were kooked i mixed some tomato soup mix in to the water. It was really good actually like alpha-gettie or zoodels.
Then Whitney came back from the airport where she picked up 2 of her friends from back home.Their here visiting here until Sunday. I was jealous to an extent because Ashley is he only one from back home that I will get to see while I'm here (luv u Ashley!) Anyway they came and tought me a new drinking game it was fun. And after checking Aarons renoes on his new place, laughing at scott and trying to read toddars shirt, I said good night and it was off to bed for me, Good night One And All!!
